Hi! Welcome to BakerBettie.com. My name is Kristin and I am a self taught cook, baker, and aspiring photographer. I use these words loosely as I am still VERY new at all of this and have so much to learn about it all!
I have a degree in Music Therapy and currently work at a community mental health center providing case management and music therapy services to adults with mental illness and drug and alcohol addictions. I absolutely love my job and work with some of the most amazing people. That being said, it gets very stressful at times. Being in the kitchen is my stress relief.
I still don’t know where this is all going or if it will always remain a hobby, but this blog is my way of figuring it all out. My way of finding my way in the culinary world and connecting with other people who share this big passion I have. Feel free to ask any questions and I hope I inspire you to “get busy in the kitchen with me!”
Fun site. I’ll watch for any dairy-free, gluten-free tips!
love your photos! I really need to get a new camera and improve mine – I usually end up using my phone to get a few snaps before people dive in and eat everything! Your posts look great
Thank you for reading and the ‘Like’ of my post.
Uh, hello deliciousness!
Very cool. Whatever outlet suits your creativity, go for it! I think I’ll enjoy your blog. Worth following.
Very nice blog.I’m in love with it!
Hey Kristin,
I’ve passed along the Versatile Blogger Award to you in recognition of your fabulous site. Whenever I need a breath of fresh air, this is where I come. For all the particulars, you can look at the original post on my site. Whether you choose to participate or merely bask in the glory of it is, of course, up to you.
Cheers!
Wendie

Everything looks so pretty and delicious. Hope I can learn a thing or two!
Gorgeous photos, what are you shooting with? (sigh, I’m gluten intolerant in a bad way. But it won’t keep me from peeking!)
I have a Canon Rebel T2i and I mostly shoot with a 50mm f/1.8 lense. I am just learning about photography.
But stay tuned for my Sunday guest posts. I am almost certain we will have some gluten free stuff!
I’ve been considering what I really want to do for a career lately and I’m a married mother of two who’s been working for 17 years. I like how you talk about passion and about helping people and I feel the same way about being completely creative, challenged, content and happy in my kitchen. I’ll be following your blog from now on. You are a cool person!
Hi Kristin! I too got a degree in Music Education, and I still love music to a degree, but I found what I really have a passion for is cooking. I think it started several generations ago with my Great and Great Great Grand Mothers so, 5 generations later, my family is still cooking and loving to make people happy with our food! We just started a blog, and are creating ebooks of ours and our grandmothers’ recipes. Feel free to check it out and maybe try out some of our recipes.
I have to say, I really like what I’ve seen of your blog so far, especially the pictures! Very nice
Maybe some day I can master my picture taking skills a bit more too.
Maybe you can share some of our super yummy cookie recipes too (my mom would be thrilled, she has a ‘cookie bible’ of dozens of cookie recipes she’s created over the years). And we like sharing recipes on our blog as well…
Keep up the awesome work!
Vanessa
I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks for always keeping me entertained and for teaching me about baking!

I so get the “music degree and then what?” deal. Me too, sister. I also love baking! But you are amazing. These pictures have me wiping drool off my face. Thanks!
This is a very nice blog you have here!
I can really relate to the struggling to find your vocation in life. I’ve started to think it’s a lifelong journey now, and that we don’t need to decide what we’re going to do forever, just take each day at a time and do what feels right. Love the blog, the photos are so enticing!
I love photography, I LOVE food, and I too feel I belong in an earlier era but this one doesn’t seem too bad since reaching my twenties. I look forward to trying out some of your delicious looking creations.

Hi, I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Award. Feel free to accept or decline. No pressure, no worries.
Thank you so much for the recognition. I am very honored!
In a world were food and specially sweets have become the enemy, your recipes and photos bring us back to the basics of enjoying what we eat and bake! Congrats! I have a more political blog and reading yours make me want to keep on trying.
I love it when I see people use cooking as a stress relief. It can be theraputic and relaxing. People are often confused to see me start cooking when tired or stressed but it is a great way to un wind.
One of the greatest blogs that we ever seen… Keep sharing these nice and delicious recipes with us
Never give up…

Hmm, I’m not sure if it was a good idea to follow your blog in the middle of the night… I’m HUNGRYYYY now;/
Hi, I really enjoy reading your blog and have nominated you for the “Inspiring Blog Award” and “One Lovely Blog Award.” There are a few rules to this nomination (these aren’t my rules, so do what you want…no pressure) you need to give a shout out to me, of course, tell us 7 things about yourself and then nominate 15 bloggers, that’s the tricky part, if you don’t have 15, don’t worry, just pass it on to someone….share the joy by following this link http://changeforbetterme.wordpress.com
If you have all ready been nominated my apologies and pass it on anyway! We all love to be recognized for our work. Enjoy!
